Eat Fish Really?

This last weekend grandpa Val was incharge a big scouting event. He rounded up the troups, "the fam" to help him out. Cliff was mostly in charge of setup and take down of everything big. Bode was in charge of playing with the cousins, I was in charge of the "Mystery Dare". The mystery dare was you had to build a fire with flint and steal, make it big enough to burn through the string 8 inches up for every two scouts. Then if you could not get the string burnt then you had to eat a gold fish. Every troup was required to eat one gold fish and then an additional gold fish for every sting that did not get burnt.
So friday I went to pick up my goldfish. Well the store I had arranged with previously was sold out. So I went to Petco... well Petco asks what you are doing with the goldfish. And, if you tell them you are feeding them to scouts.. well they will not let you purchase them. So after stopping at the 3rd store to get the fish, I have to lie about what the fish were for. Then somehow at my booth "Petco Goldfish Patrol" showed up... About 200 scouts came, and 50 fish got eaten... so moral of the story, don't plan on the scout knowing how to light the fire.

Kids Skiing

Skiing with the kids was fun this winter. We got up half a dozen times with them and had a great time. Bode doesn't care to learn to stop... He would yell "Fast" and "Wait". We often would go with our good friends the Moyes. Of course, Shaun tried to teach them air, and in the end all they wanted was to go off jumps. Moyes said "All I expect is all you got" to little Anna. She would put her skis toward the jump and right at the top of the jump sit down. I think it was all she had to give!!

Suit

Cliffy got a suit.. 1st once since the mission 13 years later. We got it for a big job interview Sunrise had with Herriman. It did not go well. we are ready to give the suit away. Cliff said next time he wears it Bode will be getting baptised...

Tax Season

This is what tax season looks like at my house. Please boys sit still for another hour.. Yes, you can watch dogs again. This chair sits two feet to my right and faces a 6 inch video player. I have huge televisions in my home, and this six inch play gets the most use and love. Check out the "special stickers" bode has on his hand. He thinks they are extra special cause they match the stamps mom uses all day long...

Where's Ryder?

I left the boys playing in this ottoman, that I keep the toys in. When I came back into the room a few minutes later the lid of the ottoman was down, and Bode is leaning on it saying, " Where Ryder Mom?" He is in that stage where he likes to hide and you find him. You put his shirt on in the morning and when it is over his head and he cannot see he says "Where's Bode?"... Well he had folded Ryder in half and stuffed him in the ottoman. Ryder was playing along, he was quietly dealing with the squished dark.. Anything for a brother!

Snow Gods Produced

Call in sick, Call in dead... I don't care quit your job. Get to the ski hill....We have received 7 feet of snow in the last 7 days... I LOVE SPRING!!! I have been so fortunate to ski 3 of those seven. Thanks to my mom and my sister for babysitting. My dad for going with me, and my husband well, for everything else....Yesterday Little Cottonwood canyon just Closed for over 36 hours, I cannot remember this ever happening in my lifetime. So today with sunny skies, and 7 feet of new snow... WOW, a friend today described his happiness about the snow that "I am so filled with Glee that I almost wet myself." I cannot explain it to a non skier. If there is such thing as momentary happiness, this is a 10, on the one to ten scale. I was sitting on the lift this morning with my dad, and not a track around.. that has got to be happiness. It is like God opens the windows of heaven and lets us in for a day... Thanks for skiing Key Hole with me Dad! You rock the house!!!
