Lake Powell

The annual Lake Powell trip was fun as always. Lots of sun, frogs, lizards, flat water, and no rocks to the boat which always helps. The highlight of the trip was the frogs. Bode loved them and Ryder was terrified of them. The boys played, played and played some more. Ryder fell asleep at the lunch table in his food twice. To many friends and to much fun!

Lake Powell

We have now found out.. If you continue to go to Lake Powell eventually you will get one of those horror stories. This was our 2nd horror story. God watched over us, and thankfully nobody got hurt. Thursday morning after a full day of really bad wind we decided it was time to get the house boat in and make a run for it. My awesome husband who thinks he can do anything, I guess he can. He took the boat off the shore, and on the way... Meantime, the rock above he almost wrapped the boat around, with a lot of help from the strong wind, and then we almost took out all the engines on the opposite shore. Those watching will not forget anytime soon.
Bode loved playing with his cousins on the back of the "Boat House"..

With that incident with the house boat in the morning. All of our luck was gone. We went out for the last ski of the day and hit a rock about 12 to 16 inches under, going 29 miles an hour. Bode describes the incident as "BOOM, STOP." It was not pretty, and Ranger Rick thought we had not had enough for the day with pulling us over as soon as we got the boat out of the water..AHH! But the miracle is Bode was not sitting with his cousin in the front of the boat, with Chase like he had been all week. He would of been thrown forward and we would've run over him.. Thank You God!
We did have some happy moments, and memories!

Summer Fun

The annual powell trip is almost here! We figured Bode needed to learn to hold on before he could wakeboard, so we got him a kneeboard. He played on it in the front yard for a couple of hours. I think he is ready!

We got to go on a fun picnic with some neighbors and a fun hike at Storm Mountain.

The Kids love the new sand box.

Granny Kathryn knew I had a busy and stressful day. She showed up and took the kids to the Zoo. Everytime Bode goes to the Zoo the Tiger loves him. The tiger came under the log and up to the glass to see Bode. It is all he can talk about. Then he got to ride the Tiger on the Carousel. Thanks for a fun memory granny!

August Powell Trip

We just got home from Powell again. We almost didn't go work and home stuff have been so crazy, but we decided we needed a break to try and calm all the storms.. and man was it fun!!

Bode is getting so much more interactive. He belly boarded, got up early and played on the beach. I almost cleared the wake toe side on the wake board, skied till I could no longer hold on, knee boarded for the 1st time, and barefooted off the boom.

The video above that looks like water flying everywhere is Cliff Bare footing on a 60 foot line going between 38-40 miles an hour. This is very hard to do, and you have to have a certain amount of stupidity to even try. Although Dave and Cliff love it. Imagine the crash going that fast..

Lake Powell

Lake Powell is one of our favorite vacations of the year. Luckly we get to go 3 or 4 times a year. To be able to mix beauty, family and fun together we cannot think of anything better!!The Linford Family enjoying the water! Luckly Bode enjoy's the water! He is not crawling yet, which made it nice, but he was teething at the beginning of the week.
This is Cliff and Bode belly boarding, at 6 1/2 months. Bode did it twice this week!! We were definalty proud parents. We have big plans for him. Next year we will teach him to wake board....The good news is.. He likes the water...

This is Bode asleep under the steering wheel of the boat! With his binky in hand and his favorite toy near!

Bode spent most of the week, sitting on the house boat in his small tub. He loved it, kept him cool, in the water, and with his toys.

Best Buddies hanging out!!

We went for a Hike, Bode fell a sleep, so we ditch him for a few, and went boulder hoping!!

This is the girls (Keri, Whitney, Mom & Heidi) up seven mile canyon hiking.

Cliff doing what he loves. He got a new wake board that he really enjoys. This is the year... We will land the back flip and 360!! If it is not this year, next year we will be a year older!

Keri laying it out, and happy not to be pregnant, last year she didn't get to REALLY enjoy the sport she had to be careful. Not this year.. Go big or Go Home!

Cliff showing that no matter how hard Keri tries he will always be better!

The Linford family in front of Tapestry Wall, enjoying the sun! We got to see a bi-plane take off in front of this wall, it was awesome!
This was straight across from the House Boat, up Cedar Canyon! We were trying to see how high we could get!!
Bode again enjoying his tub!
It was Bode's 1st trip to Powell, the 1st of many!!

No wonder we love this place!! Thanks again for smooth water, and lots of gas for the boats...don't worry we will be back in August!!
