Miracle

Last week we took Bode into his pediatrician for his 2 month check-up. The whole check-up was a bit a nightmare. Due to insurance and billing. The doctor thought he looked a little yellow and wanted to do some blood tests to see if he still had billiruban. The tests came back that his billiruban was 6.4. I guess there is two kinds of billirudan and the bad billiruban was hi. The doctor called us the next day to give us this news and tell us she was worried about it being so high, and that we needed to get into Primary Children's Hospital ASAP, to make sure his liver, and everything inside of him was working. I was in a panic, my babies liver may not be working....AHH... When Cliff got home from work that night he gave him a blessing.. I am so thankful for the priesthood in my home. The next day (Valentines Day) my mom and I spent the day at Primary Children's Hospital while they ran tests on Bode. At the end of the day, the doctors informed me and mom that they could not find anything and they will conclude all the tests they ran as normal. Three days later we returned to the Pediatrician to have our blood tested again.. This time we came in at 2.4- 2.0 is considered normal.

The week yhat this was taking place many people were praying for him. Like Olivia said, Keri you have an Army of people praying for you and ready to step in and help. I am so thankful for all those who cared and prayed, mostly for there Faith... So that My little child could be healed. I truly believe that Heavenly Father opened the doors of Mercy on my family and healed Bode! I am so thankful that he let us have this miracle in our lives... THANK YOU!! Thank you for healing my son!

Take a Step into the Dark.

Assurance and hope make it possible for us to walk to the edge of the light and take a few steps into the darkness—expecting and trusting the light to move and illuminate the way.- David A. Bednar

I feel as if I have taken a step into the dark, we had Bode, the happiness and joy that have come from it are incredible. All though now I stand in the dark, my life lies in Gods hands to determine. Today I am suppose to take Bode to Primary Childrens Hospital to run some tests, his Billiruban Count is very high, and they are worried his liver is not working.

I took a step into the dark, the darkness was scary and harder then I new I could handle, the light came, the happiness was more then we could imagine, and now it is dark again. I pray to my Heavenly Father to bless my little bundle, he is the world to me and I am scard of the dark. His faite lies in this hand- please be with him father, at this point it seems all that matters......

Bode Blessing

2/3/08- Today Bode was given a name and a blessing. How the spirit filled my home! We woke up early to prepare for the day. Make the food, feed Bode, ect. It was snowing rather hard. Church was at 9, around 8:30, the phone rang, church had been cancelled. To much snow. I cannot think of a better way for my Heavenly Father to tell me that he loves me and is thinking about me then for him to send a huge snow storm- What a tender mercy of the Lord.

This is what the blessing said-

We lay our hands upon you this baby to give you a name and a blessing. The name that we have chosen is Bode Paulsen Linford.

Your Heavenly father loves you very much. Our family loves you. Heavenly Father has saved you for the last day to be and example to your family, friends and others.

We bless you with Health and Strength and with a happy life.

You are the oldest child to be and example to your parents and to your siblings. We are happy to have you in our home. Follow the spirit.

We bless you that you will gain a testimony early in life, you will serve a mission and marry in the temple.

We bless you with happiness and with strength to be a leader to others, not just follow others.

We Love you,

Those standing in the circle-

Thanks for everyone making this an important thing to attend! I love you all, and I love BODE!

Bode's name came from a few different places- Cliff and I really liked the name Brody- But Cliff felt strongly that he would call his son Boe- So we basicaly took out the R from Brody and you have Bode. Bode Miller- An incredible skier I cannot think of a better sport to chose a name from. Paulsen is my maiden name. My Dad's middle name is his mom's maiden name, and I would not only like to carry on the tradition, but I cannot think of better people than the Paulsen to name my son after. I look up to my dad so much, he definately is my hero, friend, example, I cannot imagine without his everyday influence. If I can have a son like my dad, there is nothing I would like more. This way he get a little Linford and a little Paulsen. The best of both worlds.

Below is an email my dad sent me-

Keri and Cliff

I was just looking at the awesome pictures of Bode and read again the e mail. Just realized that maybe you were considering including the Paulsen name. If you do I think it would be absolutely wonderful. I am so thankful for you guys and I love you so much. It was good to be with you last night, I hope that you were able to get some rest . Have a great day! I Love you all So Much! Val

Thank you Heavenly Father for not only a son, but a husband and a Dad!!

President Hinckley

It is not enough to be known as a member of the church, a solemn obligation rests upon us. Let us face it and work at it.
Be Grateful, Be Clean, Be True, Be Humble, Be Prayerful

Let us stand a little taller, lift our eyes and strech our minds.
May we stand a little taller, be a little better. He never asked us to change the world, all he asked was for us to stand a little taller, take it one step at a time. This week I know and am thankful for latter day prophets. I have felt the sprirt so strong concerning President Hinckley. What a great example.
Be grateful, and above all be faithful. -President Hinckley thank you for your example!
