Ryder Turns 2

We spent Ryder's Birthday in Heber. We rode the 4 wheelers from Heber to the Cabin. Heidi, Whit, Emma, Granny and Grandpa Paulsen came to celebrate. Ryder I love you. I adore you. I love the way you care and cheer up others. I love how you share and give hugs to all in need. I think you are darling. I love your blond hair. You are the peace maker in our home. Bode is your best friend, and that makes me so happy. You follow him everywhere. In your room your beds are side by side so when sleeping you can comfort on another, and I have seen that you do. When you wake in the morning you stay in bed until Bode is awake and you come down the hall together. You always wear a smile, and never want to be left behind. Thanks for coming to our family. Cherish the relationship you have with your brother. Happy Birthday Son. XOXOXO

Summer Fun

This is why we had two kids so close together. Best Buddies, when Ryder is taking a nap. Bode says "But MOM, I have nothing to do without my Ryder-Boy."
Bode loves to match his Dad on Sunday. He was so excited the week he came home from Church and Cliff had taught his primary class, and they noticed and asked them to stand in sharing time. Cliff wears a tie more often to church due to Bode begging so they can match. Thanks for the ties Marta!
Bodes skills on the bike for a 3 year old are amazing. We took off his training wheels at the beginning of the summer, riding his bike is one of his favorites things to do. Tricks and jumps. The day we took of the training wheels Cliff took them up the street to the school to play at the park, Bode couldn't believe the speed and balance he could have without the training wheels. He was coming down the hill he jumped off the curb, gaining speed across the parking lot, intending to bump up the curb on the other side, when the bike stopped on the curb the Bode flew 4 feet. Cliff said the ladies gasped... Bode he picked up and rode home.. Not to try up another curb yet. But he does love to ride to the church so we can ride down the stairs. Loves riding down big hills and going over jumps. Crazy little boy with no fear. Meantime, Ryder rides on the ally cat. Holding on for dear life and loving it the entire time. His feet do not reach the pedals, but he never complains. Happy, and begging for more.

Colter Bay-1st Camping with the Boys...

This year for the 1st time for me we went to Colter Bay, in Yellowstone Park. I have never seen a prettier lake in my life. Incredible.. Gorgeous. It was the 1st time we took the boys camping and we had a great time. We took a tent for the boys, and Cliff and I thought we would sleep on the air mattress under the stars. We laid down for bed after an incredible day on the lake it started to rain. The boys were tucked into the tent, so Cliff ran to the Marina to see if he could buy a tarp. When Cliff came back he found me in our bed with the table cloth over me. I have never slept so good under a tarp in the rain before. We hiked and boated, and enjoyed every minute of it. We will be back.

Family Boating

If Cliff has the day off, and you want to know where we are... this is where, good luck finding us! Notice the smooth water, just sitting around waiting for the water to get rough. Dad, you should come with us!!

MAMA

Ryder said MAMA... this may not be a big deal to you, but it was. He has been saying DADA for about a 8 months, and finally this week.. he said MAMA.. WOW...REALLY...Thanks Ryder you made my week!

Lake Powell

The annual Lake Powell trip was fun as always. Lots of sun, frogs, lizards, flat water, and no rocks to the boat which always helps. The highlight of the trip was the frogs. Bode loved them and Ryder was terrified of them. The boys played, played and played some more. Ryder fell asleep at the lunch table in his food twice. To many friends and to much fun!

Shoe Problem...

We have a shoe issue, any pair of shoes lasts about 3 weeks. People think we neglect our children, cause they ALWAYS have holes in theirs shoes. I bought them new shoes a month ago, and when I came home from girls camp last week the boys had another pair of new shoes. The wiggle car eats them... literally, it takes a chunk out of the toe. It is Ryder's favorite thing to do, and he is very good at it and brave. He comes down the neighbors driveway crusing and hits the curb on the other side of the street to slow down. They just don't make shoes that with stand it.

Growing Older

Heaven in a BABA. Hard to believe his blanky did not make this picture.

Ryder is 18 months this week. He loves playing with his brother outside. He loves his wiggle car, and is getting really good at it quickly. He can now glide forward on it. His favorite thing to do outside is the sand box. I didn't know how many places you can get sand. He can't say mama, but he can clearly say BOBO. He loves his brother, and his brother loves him. They have issues sharing but they are continually looking out for each other. Bode says mom, change Ryder diaper, or mom bring Ryder in he is sad, or Ryder is giving Bode a hug or giving him his toy. When Bode is taking a nap Ryder pounds on his door wanting a friend to come and play. Ryder will no longer sit in the high car, he demands sitting at the big boy table. He thinks he can do everything his big brother can. He is really good at hugs, when he is ready to give hugs.. take them they are really good. Books are calming to him, if he is mad try a book, immediately he will point and babble.

Playing in Snow

One of our favorite things it to wake up to 6 inches of snow in the front yard. The three of us love playing, sliding, rolling in the snow... Priceless memories!
