Wasatch Back

First of all I would like to thank Scott, Ashley, Lonnie, Reeder and Ben- my 1/2 of the team... for the laughs, encouragement, memories, and fun!! I believe that only a hand full of times in your life you get to meet, associate, and become friends with real quality people. I had the opportunity to do so with these 5 people. Thanks for opening your hearts and lives for a few days to influence my life, so I could become a better person by associating with you.

"Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget."

Ashley in not in the picture above, she was running!!

For 181 miles, a team of 12 people ran for 29 hours to complete a relay race. There were 579 teams with 12 runners per team. Each team member ran 3 legs of the race. Some of the legs you sweat to death and other you enjoyed the moon light. By the end the car really stunk and the leave of sleep deprivation was high!! I couple of things I will always remember-

Reeder asking me to text the other team and tell them we were at exchange 24, at 2 o'clock in the morning. I feel asleep mid text... it never got sent..

Opening my cot laying it in the middle of a field with cars from the other teams surrounding me, and weeds as high as the cot, waking up 2 hours later and thinking, YEAH I slept. Meantime, all the cars around me had changed.

Boyd- our driver for the 1st half, making me and reeder laugh so hard I almost wet my pants.

Swimming in some misc. hotel pool with the team to "shower" off so the car didn't stink so bad. Sorry about that hotel....

This is the starting line, teams started every 15 min, all day long. You can see the back of Ben's T-Shirt. Our team log was"Running FORD Tough" - We ran for Uncle Ford, he has fought Cancer for now I think 8 years, and it is still a trial every day! I thought of him when it felt like 105 degrees out and all I wanted to do was go for a ski on the lake I was running past. I love you Uncle Ford!!

Keri running at night! This was my best leg, full moon, cool breeze, tons of stars... and miles of road ahead!

Reeder encouraging Lonnie!!

The full team... well at least the other 11 of them! Thanks for all of you running so I could experience this, and Reeder thanks for all the hard work you put into this- you know I love you!!It was the best of times, it was the worst of times!! I hope that I get to rub shoulders with you again!

Jordanelle & Deer Creek

We went boating over the weekend. The water at Jordanelle was SO COLD. They say is was 50 Degrees, we feel like it was 34 Degrees. It was the first time out for the Golden Getaway, she ran like a champ and Dad got up without any issues, he seems to worry every year that he will forget how to ride... but he has still got it and looks good. We went up Friday night and boated at Jordanelle and then Deer Creek in the morning. Bode fell asleep both trips! Cliff wanted to know why I didn't take any pic's of him Wake boarding to post.... I will try next time. It was fun to have Oliva, Whitney, and my parents along.

Horseback Riding & The Wave

Last weekend we went to Star Valley to help out with the Cows... This is cliff seeing if he remembers how to ride a horse. Apparently he does, although his butt does not agree with the activity. We branded the calves and then took the cows over the mountain. It was only the 2nd time I have been able to help herd the cows to Tige. I really enjoy it, although I do not care for the branding much.

Grandpa Linford claims that "He rode a bull at six months of age."

Bode was excited about all the animals and excitement, and Cliff was excited to show him his home turf.

One of Cliff and I's new favorite things to do it go to Ogden and try and Surf at the Salomon Center. It is harder then it looks. But we have a fun time trying. Last time Whitney, Seth and Oliva went with us.
